It is easy to improve your grade in English as long as you follow some rules. Your mastery of the English language is based on how well you can speak, read and write. Here are some simple tips which helped me to get better marks.
Speaking
Answer the question using quotes from the question.
For example, if the question asks about 'Tom's breakfast routine', the first sentence of your answer needs to include 'Tom's breakfast routine'
Give more detailed answers in class discussion rather than ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answers. You can do this by including more conjunctions and connectives in your response.
For example, "President Roosevelt was a good man because he believed in gender equality".
For example, "President Roosevelt was a principled man with a strong moral compass, empathy, courage and strength."
To improve answers to questions, continue to argue your case and add in points or quotes from the text
Reading
When understanding an idea, remember to go through the context ‘why’, ‘what’, ‘who’, ‘when’ an ‘how’
Writing
To improve writing, continue to follow the structure and templates of different text types
Include as much relevant information as possible. Do not include information which is not relevant even it is very interesting
