The beautiful ocean shone in front of my eyes. The sun glared at me while I rested my head gently on the sand. It was the time of peace and I took a refreshing sip of my appetising cocktail. “How did I get here? Why am I here? I could’ve changed the world earlier! Oh well… I guess a rest is definitely worth it!”
It was a cold Sunday morning and I lazily lunged into my lush backyard to water the plants. My toddler son came dashing outside with a large spoon! All of a sudden, he stopped somewhere random and started to dig. He kept digging until he hit something metal. Sad and disappointed, he crept back in to wash the dirt off the spoon.
Inquisitive about what could possibly be blocking him from continuing, I grabbed out a proper shovel and started to rapidly dig at the whole. Upon a brief glace, a strange message in a foreign language was encrypted into the metal. The numbers 2050 caught my attention! It was a stupid idea but I decided to try to pull the heavy box out. I managed to rip open the top and in a flash the box sucked me in.
Suddenly, I felt strange and especially light similar to a balloon. I gazed around this abstract emptiness until a floating, strange sign caught my eye. I slowly crept up to the odd text. It informed me that this was a time machine. If I demanded a specific year and location, I could travel to it. Being an idiot, I blurted out a random date and I fell through the wormhole-like tunnel.
I eventually hit the ground and found myself on a familiar beach. Then it snapped! I went to this beach during my holiday to the Sunshine Coast! I felt wonderful as I explored the hidden gems of the beach. Eventually, I found a bar that sold exquisite cocktails and wine. Feeling spontaneous, I just took something off the counter. I took a sip and it was the heavenly flavour of watermelon! Delighted, I skipped away trying to find other items to casually take.
Snatching a beach blanket from the souvenir store, I laid the blanket down gently on the shore. The lovely waves softly rolled onto the primrose sand and I admired the blazing sunset. It was a moment I wished could remain frozen in time. I took a deep breath and sighed at myself for leaving others behind but the rest was definitely worth it. I didn’t feel crude at all because my job was stressful enough. If I told other people, who knows what havoc it would cause. The world could’ve been changed forever! As I sat there slowly enjoying my drink, I thought about how lucky I was to have got here.
