A Fatal Flaw

ree

Pierced from two sides the arrow laid. I felt hopeless. Lost in an empty void, I watched the sun set off my small balcony. There was no time left and I struggled inside to finish off what I should have finished. This arduous project laughed at me for endless years. The work I patiently worked hard on for so long must be done. The arrow toughened but so did I. I rummaged through this pain and I worked and worked for the sheer goal of success.

The arrow laughed and jeered but knowing its cold heart, nothing could stop me. I could feel another realm of myself. I always thought I was the best and I knew I was. Struggling and sobbing on my cold, dead and bland balcony, this arrow had a pierce that I could embrace.

It contains a mighty power. Something so strong no mere human could handle. However, I was built differently. No sticks or stones could hurt me. I still remember that day I dominated the other team. I didn't have the eye of the tiger but failure wasn’t an option. I must embrace this power the arrow gave and it must be used.

However, I lacked reality and I felt a portal rise over my head. A portal of reality. This wasn’t a dream though and I felt weird. Was the arrow a placebo pill? Was I dreaming? I felt I was being sucked up by the portal and I stopped.

The results started to set. Overconfidence was the power the arrow gave and it comes with side effects. The fatal flaw has stepped in and I'm losing myself. What has this confidence done? This world is strange and I must deal with that. Am I really in a void?
