Early Days

I was on the way home

Preparing a lonely day alone

Then there he sat

Under the wretched hat

A dog was there, snow white and fluffy

My mum’s overjoyed smile

Lasted a while

Until a terrible disaster came

The poor couch was never the same!

He took some speedy energetic steps - slipping around

His little head smooth and round

He seemed fine walking

Then our mischievous cat started stalking

She stared and glared with a grumpy look

Oh the attention has been took!

Life then never became the same

With this dog, there will be extra pain

Walking is fine

But they always waste time!

The poop wreaks with an awful smell

It makes me feel like I'm in hell!

Sometimes, it's all good things

The loud dismissal bell, screams and rings

I rush out of class to my parents’ car

My house though is a bit far

But, when I get home I don’t feel alone

I feel warm cuddling my dog

Oh no! Why does he smell like an overweight hog!
