Fun in Fiji

Hopping off Emirates Airlines, I stepped into Fiji, which reminded me of a steamy rainforest which heated increasingly overtime. We had an inquisitive yet nervous Fiji local drive us around the city. Funnily enough, despite being a local, he seemed more lost than me on the ride. “Is this the right turn?” He asked persistently.

He followed my instructions well like a puppy dog at school. Soon enough, I found myself in front of a historic hotel in Nadi with big grand doors. The architectural design was very peculiar, with everything tightly packaged together. When we walked in, we were instantly greeted with enthusiasm, wide smiles. They also gave us a mysterious, yet delicious juice blended from Melons and oranges which were so coloerful that I thought that they were ornate decorations.

When we finally opened the door to room 935, I stumbled and instantly fell onto the most comfortable mattress in the world. It felt like a snug cloud and smelt like fragipani flowers in spring. I instantly dozed off into sleep, disturbing my poor parents with my graceful snores.

The very next day I woke up bright-eyed and with glowing skin after resting on the softest Egyptian cotton. My comfort was immediately destroyed when the blazing sun hit me with its steaming rays. I started to get dressed in my favourite bathers as we were headed to a pristine beach. My parents nearly yelled at me because I was singing so boisterously. I sprinted to the car humming to my favourite tunes and wretched open the door like a professional mechanic. I regretted that instantly, screaming my head off as my hands seared on the metal car door like BBQ meat.

Once we got their, a kind bird greeted my father by dropping some green liquid on his head. I ran to the white sand beaches looking strong and fit like a Baywatch lifeguard, until I tripped over a bunch of seaweed, and fell face flat onto the white sanded beaches. I greeted the cool sea to chill out and provided some free swimming coaching lessons to random toddlers. After half an hour of full paradise mode and being complimented by strangers’ mums, it was noon and the warmer waves crashed onto the soft, golden sand. I went back to the hotel with a smile from ear to ear.

Upon return to our hotel, I chilled out on a giant hammock overlooking turquoise lagoons and jagged rocks. I celebrated my victory on BattleCats whilst drinking another extra large juice on the way back to the airport with our confused local tour guide.
