My Wonderful Room

My room may be fairly small but it is full of heartwarming surprises. To enter my bedroom, you will first pass through a freshly painted white door. Behind it, you will find an ordinary wardrobe that contains extraordinary outfits, a tall lego shelf filled with engineering marvels, a square window that reveals the beauty of our lush backyard, and pokemon cards to play on sunday fundays. On the left, you will see a bookshelf containing a collection of action-packed graphic novels, a bed as fluffy as baby sheep’s wool, a bedside table where my snow leopard toy usually sits and a gray bean bag for reading on rainy days. My room is a rectangular and relaxing library, as well as an adventurous playground.

My closet is sturdy, strong and built in. It reminds me of my parents, who never fail to back down in times of adversity. It runs down between the two right side corners, with smooth sliding mirror doors which brighten up the room. In my sleek closet, there are lots of drawers to store all my colorful clothes. At the top of the closet, there is a secret compartment like the overhead bins in a plane without a hatch. In the compartment I meticulously store all my precious childhood toys, which jog up many wonderful memories hanging out with mates I’ve known since birth.

My five - storey lego shelf sits perfectly to the right of my functional closet. We used to have a debilitated bookshelf that creaks and cracks. After my mum learnt that I loved legos, we replaced the old piece of metal with a stylish wooden shelf as black as a black hole. Being an aspiring engineer, I intelligently utilize all the space, even the top shelf for my ninjago and minecraft lego sets!

Adjacent to the lego shelf, I have my pokemon drawer which brings a smile from ear to ear everytime I open it. It is absolutely my favorite spot in the room. When I sit down on my bean bag to look through all my cards, I feel like I am on cloud 1000. It has clear, plastic drawers with little handles for taking out vibrant pokemon cards carefully sorted by dividers and can be easily put back in. As I play and battle with my pokemon cards, I am taken to a magical, adventurous world and freed from the stresses of exams. Time just flies by like a Nasa rocket as my imagination teleports me to this fantastical fictional world. I see pokemon swimming, flying and running across ribbons - like rivers interweaving through thick fields.

Above my Pokémon drawer is my window. It nearly takes up the whole back wall to give me a highly ventilated room. From my window, warm sun rays illuminate my freshly trimmed lawn where my neighbor’s chickens cluck enthusiastically, disrupting my sleep. Sometimes I can see my dog chasing the birds crazily like he is on a sugar and caffeine rush. Whenever I feel down, I just stare outside of the window and those mad creatures bring me immediate joy.

In the center of my room is a double - sized bed, lavishly lined with blue bed sheets and my blanket is covered in blood red foxes. My bed is not just for sleeping. It has giant Mario characters for vicious wrestling battles right before I read a book. These fights are unforgettable and vigorous involving a barrage of kicks, rolls, cartwheels, handstands, flips and punches.

My bedside table may only have one drawer in a light brown like a grizzly bear and legs as white as a polar bear. Filled with little balls of foam, my Egyptian cotton beanbag is very fluffy and soft, reminding me of a lazy gray and delightful elephant.

Being the total nerd I am, my bookshelf is humungous compared to my lego shelf, jammed with books on top, down below and in the middle. Looking at it you can see a magnificent array of bright, vibrant colors. Every night I would pick from my wonderful myriad of novels to read aloud with my Mario pals.

It is without a doubt that I love my cozy, adventurous room a lot.
