The Aircraft Book was published in 2021 by DK. As one of my favourite books ever, it defines the history of aviation ingeniously, making it as simple as counting the alphabet! It flies from hot air balloons all the way to manless aircraft of today! It's amazing how this book is able to describe all of that without the book being as heavy as a plane itself!
Firstly, The AirCraft Book is highly informative and addresses every detail possible. Every text is supported by real life photographs of the plane models for the curious reader. Every text is backed up by excellent and thorough research. For instance, photos of how flight evolved from wooden frames to pressurised cabins with the capacity to be supersonic leave a memorable impression.
Subsequently, it is interesting to look at aviation before planes with hot air balloons and gliders. It then displays a myriad of successful pioneers, before diving into planes which took aviation to the next level. All in all, the detail astounds readers with the beauty and majesticness of flight.
Reading this book makes you feel like you're warping through time! Looking at all the record breakers and the failures. This book is a MUST read to young aviationists who are passionate and deeply interested in aviation.
