The Discovery

A rumour was all it could take to set me off on a hunt. This rumour could lead to a major discovery, and a hefty amount of cash. I could obtain over 80 million dollars if I become a vintage car collector. I have hunted vintage cars before, finding over 40 million dollars worth of exotic cars. My major breakthrough was a 1956 Ferrari 290 MM at an astounding 32.8 million dollars! This time, this wasn’t any vintage car, this was the 1954 Mercedes-Benz W196R Formula One Racing Single Seater. This was the 5th most expensive car ever sold at auction! I had to get it and an adventure I must start.

On the night of the first day I started, I planned how I would track it. Rumoured to be around an 150 kilometre radius around the Mexican town of Mulge I had to book a flight. I booked a flight for $600 and started to pack. The flight was in 2 hours so I had to rush. The necessary items I used were a strong magnet for magnet fishing, a metal detector and binoculars, so I shoved them in my bag and left.

Once I arrived, I took the bus to Mulege. My trusty friend told me about a mechanic with Land Rover for hire. His old Land Rover was rusty but still functioned perfectly. I took the keys and drove to the desert where I could search for the barn. The desert was clear but it was until I saw in the distance, a large dust storm was heading our way. I jumped out and started to secure the car.

While I was waiting for the storm to arrive I hastily dashed around the area with my metal detector until I heard a strong beep. Knowing that it would take too long to dig it up, I waltzed back to the car happy and hopeful as ever. The storm was a long wait and a heavy one too.

I got out eventually and started to search the area until I found the barn. I dug through the sand until I hit the roof. I kept digging until I made my way to the side door. I hammered on the side door until it burst open. I slid in and I saw it. The car was there. Fresh with some rust.
